That’s intentional. We believe the best work happens when you’re fully present — in your office, visible to your colleagues, able to see the people around you, and engaged in the full Katmai experience.
But sometimes you’re not at your computer.
You’re walking through an airport. In the car. Between meetings. Grabbing lunch. And when that happens, you still need to be able to join the conversation.
That’s why we’ve built new mobile options specifically for those moments.
2D Video Conference
When you join from your phone, 2D Video Conference gives you a familiar meeting experience with a Katmai feel.
See the faces of your colleagues. Watch screen shares. Talk and interact as you normally would.
Meanwhile, colleagues on their computers stay in the full Katmai experience. To them, you’re simply another avatar in the room.
Audio Only
Sometimes you don’t need — or can’t use — a screen.
Switch to Audio Only and put your phone in your pocket, set it aside, or keep your attention elsewhere while staying part of the conversation.
You can select your mode when you join and switch between 2D Video Conference and Audio Only at any point during the meeting.
The easiest way to join
When joining a Katmai meeting from your phone, the cleanest path is through the Link to Me of someone in the meeting.
If you know someone will be joining on mobile, the meeting host should include their Link to Me directly in the calendar invite.
On your phone, long press the link, open it in your browser, and Katmai will take it from there.
Desktop first. Mobile when you need it.
You can also access Katmai’s 3D environment from your phone. But we don’t think of mobile as a replacement for Katmai on your computer.
Katmai is your office. When you’re at your computer, we want you fully present in it.
Mobile is there for everything that happens in between — giving you the flexibility to join, participate and stay connected when work takes you somewhere else.
Desktop for presence. Mobile for continuity.
