What is Katmai?
Katmai is a next-gen 3D video and spatial audio platform. Our core product is a virtual office that brings people together to work and hang out — bridging the best of the real-life shared office experience with the flexibility of working from home. Our virtual office can be accessed from a browser on your computer, anytime and from anywhere in the world.
Many people associate a 3D experience with cumbersome VR goggles or cartoon avatars. Katmai has taken a more human and practical approach. With just a strong internet connection and your computer webcam, you can step into an entirely new and stunning branded world, built exclusively for you and your team.

How much does a Katmai Virtual Office cost?
After the one-month free trial, pricing is just $15/person per month.

How does the free trial work?
Your entire team is covered under the free trial so everyone can have the full experience. There's no credit card required to sign up.
One week before your trial expiration, we'll send you a friendly reminder and instructions on how to lock in your virtual office.

Can I customize my virtual office?
Every Katmai virtual office includes the option to brand your office with your logo, brand colors and hero imagery in the lobby and conference rooms.

If you want to deck out your office with 3D models of products, and/or create a product showroom, we can do this as well at an additional cost.

Do I need to download or install anything?
Nope! Katmai exists entirely in your web browser, with Chrome being the recommended choice.

Does Katmai integrate with other tools?
Today, Katmai is perfect to work alongside leading tools like Slack, Google Workspace, Miro, etc. In fact, that’s just how our team works!
We’ve found Slack to be a great pairing for fully remote companies, with Katmai as the synchronous tool, and Slack as the a-sync tool to support different time zones.

How do I move around in Katmai?
Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to rotate left and right, and to move forward and backward. For even more control, test out the WASD keys.

What is spatial audio?Spatial audio is an immersive 360-degree soundscape that simulates the way we hear sound in real life. When someone is speaking, you can hear from what direction and distance their voice is coming from in the 3D space. The closer you are, the more intimate the conversation. The farther you are, the more ambient chatter seeps in. Just like IRL.

How do people hear each other in Katmai?In Katmai, there are zones where sound can only be heard by the people inside that area. We call these areas sound zones. When you’re in a sound zone, your audio can’t be heard by anyone outside of it.In our office spaces, examples of sound zones include individual offices, patios, lounges, couches, and conference rooms.

Can I record meetings in Katmai?
The ability to record meetings is not currently in our beta feature set, but it is on our roadmap.

Can I share files in Katmai?
We do not offer file storage or transfer at this time.

Can I access Katmai on mobile devices?
Yes, Katmai can be accessed via a mobile browser on your smartphone or tablet (currently in Beta). This will allow you to remain connected to your team and in your office while on the go.

How do I exit/leave Katmai?
Click the exit icon on the top right of your screen or simply close your browser window.

Do you support Single Sign On?
At this time, we do not but it’s on the roadmap.

How often should my team be in Katmai?
Some companies treat their virtual office as they would the physical office: when you’re working, you’re logged into Katmai (e.g. 9:30 am–5:30 pm). Other companies have dedicated office hours in Katmai (e.g. 11 am–3 pm Mon–Thurs). Either way, value is unlocked by bringing real-time team proximity and visibility to the remote workflow.

Do I have to keep my camera on?
Best practice is for teams to keep their cameras on while working. Katmai is re-capturing the magic of IRL for remote and distributed teams. “Video on” in Katmai enables you to foster the sense of presence and connectedness that has been missing from the digital workplace.

What regions Katmai available in?
Katmai is available world-wide! However, the chat feature is currently only available in English, and our support staff is available during North American working hours.

How many users can I have inside Katmai?
Each space can have up to 25 people at a time.
However, you can have over 25 members on a Katmai server, with multiple spaces to accommodate multiple teams and experiences. This works just like in a physical office, where you would have different teams on different floors.

How do I invite guests into Katmai?
We have an easy-to-use guest pass system that generates a secure meeting link for a specified time and date.

Is there a cap to how many guests I can invite in?
Nope! We encourage you to host guests in Katmai, whether it’s a client meeting, a new business pitch, or a candidate for an interview. By welcoming guests into your branded 3D virtual office, you’ll bring the wow factor and create a more meaningful and memorable experience for all.

We do indeed! We offer training via two paths:

Is my audio/video being recorded or monitored?
Your privacy is our top priority. Katmai does not record audio or video.
